Doty, widower, age 39, born Niagara Falls, NY, Parents John and Louisa Doty married Amanda Jane Pierce, widow, age 33, born Oakville, Ontario, Parents John and Margaret Pierce. Married April 20, 1888 in Toronto. This marriage is also listed in the St. James Anglican Church register in of Landmarks of Toronto, volume 3, p. 395 by Jeff Robertson - 26 April, 1888, Frank Henry Doty, widower, and Amanda Jane Pearce, spinster, Toronto.
 
Note on Amanda Jane Doty/Williams/Pierce
As for the difference in the last name of Amanda Jane, there are several clues. There is an 1881 census entry for Amanda Jane Pearce, born Ontario of Welsh origin, spouse of C. W. Pearce, born England with children Elena (age 2) and Anna (age 1). Census from 1901 has Amanda Doty as head of household with Annie Doty born 1879 (1 in 1881) and Elena Greys, daughter, born 1878 (2 in 1881). There is also an entry in the 1911 census for Amanda J Doty again as head with a daughter Lena (Elena?) Pierce (Pearce) born 1887.
there is also a marriage certificate, Ontario archives # 003558, for Charles William Pearse, bachelor"  37, born England, son of Thomas and Ann and Amanda Jane Williams, spinster, 23, born Oakville, Ontario, daughter of John and what appears to be Mary or Margaret Ann, married May 16, 1877 in Oakville, Ontario.
